The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of Wimal S.K. Liyanagama as the new Director General of Customs, effective today (05).
Liyanagama, an officer of the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, currently serves as Director General of the Department of Management Services.
His appointment follows the conclusion of the term of Seevali Arukgoda, who has been serving as Director General of Customs until today.
The proposal for the appointment was presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his capacity as Minister of Finance and received Cabinet approval. (Newswire)
