President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed the Most Venerable Narampanawa Ananda Thera as the new Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.
The appointment, effective from today (July 2), was made by the President.
The official letter of appointment was presented to the prelate by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon.
Venerable Narampanawa Ananda Thera is the Anunayake of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Maha Nikaya’s Maha Vihara tradition. (Newswire)
