A tense situation was reported in Maharagama today after the Police clashed with a group of youths protesting against agreements between the government and India.
A group of Police officers were seen forcibly removing banners and posters put up on the side of the road, despite the protesters agreeing to take them down.
Despite slamming the Police officials for behaving like thugs, the protesters urged them to practice restraint and to allow them to peacefully remove the banners from the pavements for the convenience of the public. (Newswire)
