A suspect has been arrested after allegedly attempting to throw a parcel containing prohibited items over the wall of the Magazine Prison in Colombo, Police said.
The parcel contained 30 rechargeable batteries, 250 grams of lime, 50 grams of tobacco, betel nuts and mawa.
Police said the items were recovered after the parcel was thrown over the prison wall.
Sahaspura Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
