Sri Lanka internationals Niroshan Dickwella, Lakshan Sandakan and Isuru Udana are among the latest former national cricketers to successfully complete Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) Level 2 Coaching Course, joining a growing list of former players who have earned the qualification since the programme began in 2012.
Sri Lanka Cricket on Tuesday released the full list of 31 former men’s and women’s national players who have completed the SLC Level 2 Coaching Course over the past 13 years, highlighting the continued transition of former internationals into coaching roles.
The list comprises Hashan Tillakaratne, Avishka Gunawardene, Rangana Herath, Upul Tharanga, Ajantha Mendis, Nuwan Kulasekara, Chamara Silva, Dinesh Chandimal, Dhammika Prasad, Ravindra Pushpakumara, Nuwan Zoysa, Muthumudalige Pushpakumara, Sachith Pathirana, Kithruwan Vithanage, Charitha Buddhika, Akalanka Ganegama, Ruchira Perera, Gihan Rupasinghe, Shashikala Siriwardene, Sripalee Weerakkody, Dedunu de Silva, Prasadini Weerakkodi, Chamika Bandara, Randika Galhenage, Lasanthi Madushani, Hiruka Fernando, Chamari Polgampola, Isuru Udana, Seekkuge Prasanna, Lakshan Sandakan and Niroshan Dickwella.
According to SLC, the initiative reflects the commitment of former national players to continue contributing to the game by combining their international experience with modern coaching principles to help develop the next generation of Sri Lankan cricketers. (Newswire)
