The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry has concluded that Israel has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, including extermination, persecution, torture, rape and other forms of sexual violence, against Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

In a statement shared on social media, United Nations Geneva highlighted the Commission’s findings, stating that Israeli forces had intentionally targeted Palestinian civilians.

The findings are detailed in the Commission’s fifth report to the UN General Assembly, dated October 14, 2026, which examines killings and serious bodily and mental harm caused by Israeli and Palestinian security forces since October 2023.

According to the report, more than 75,000 Palestinians have been killed across the Occupied Palestinian Territory since October 7, 2023, including at least 21,500 children and 11,000 women.

The Commission concluded that Israeli military operations in the West Bank formed part of a widespread and systematic attack against Palestinian civilians, involving deliberate killings, excessive use of force and discriminatory practices.

It further found that Israeli authorities and security forces had committed crimes against humanity, including extermination, torture, rape, sexual violence and persecution based on nationality, race and ethnicity.

The report also found that Palestinian children had been deliberately targeted, with the Commission concluding that Israeli forces had committed age-based persecution against children in both Gaza and the West Bank.

Regarding Gaza, the Commission reaffirmed its earlier findings that Israeli authorities and forces had committed war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. It concluded that incidents investigated in its latest report demonstrated the continuation of acts committed with genocidal intent.

The Commission also documented additional cases of sexual violence against Palestinian detainees, including rape, forced nudity and other forms of degrading treatment.

The report further noted that Israeli airstrikes in the West Bank had resulted in 254 Palestinian deaths between October 7, 2023, and September 30, 2026, compared to six deaths from airstrikes between 2008 and October 6, 2023.

The Commission called for an end to Israel’s unlawful occupation of Palestinian territory and measures to ensure accountability for violations of international law.

Israel has rejected the Commission’s findings, describing the report as part of a misinformation campaign aimed at demonising the country.
