The Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development has announced plans to streamline Sri Lanka’s business registration process, aiming to eliminate inconsistencies and reduce complexity.
Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe noted that the current system requires applicants to submit multiple documents to Divisional Secretariat offices, where procedures vary from one office to another.
He emphasized that these inconsistencies have created significant difficulties for individuals seeking to start businesses.
The minister states that to address the issue, the Ministry is taking steps to establish a standardized registration process, which is expected to be introduced in March. (Newswire)
