Sri Lanka’s first-ever AI-powered tourism hotel project, titled Grand Serendib Colombo, was officially launched under the patronage of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Vijitha Herath.

Joining the Minister at the opening ceremony were legendary Sri Lankan Cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya, and Dilip K. Herath, representing ABEC Premier — the developer behind the project.

Speaking at the event, Minister Vijitha Herath said, “The commencement of this project marks a major investment milestone for Sri Lanka, reflecting the growing investor confidence in our tourism sector. By integrating artificial intelligence into hospitality, this initiative will take Sri Lanka’s smart tourism industry to the next level.”

The launch event, held at Shangri-La Colombo on Friday (10), also marked the 20th anniversary celebration of ABEC Group. The ceremony was attended by MP Dr. Harsha de Silva, senior academics representing local and foreign universities, diplomats, and distinguished professionals. (Newswire)
