
The low-level atmospheric disturbance, in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, has developed into a low-pressure area and is located to the northeast of Sri Lanka, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Per the latest weather analysis issued at 03.00 pm today, the prevailing showery conditions over the island are expected to continue during the next few days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in most parts of the island, while cloudy skies are also expected.
Heavy falls above 100 mm are likely in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Northern provinces and in the Trincomalee district.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Newswire)
