A textile shop in Kiribathgoda was completely destroyed after a fire broke out in the area on Tuesday, authorities said.
According to the Fire Brigade, five fire-fighting vehicles were deployed to control and extinguish the blaze after the fire was reported at a shop in Kiribathgoda town.
No casualties were reported at the time of filing this report. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be officially confirmed.
Meanwhile, police said traffic along the Colombo–Kandy road in Kiribathgoda was disrupted due to the fire incident. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes until traffic conditions return to normal. (Newswire)
