3 Lankans arrested with forged documents at Albania-North Macedonia border

Albanian officials have arrested three (03) Sri Lankans who had attempted to cross the Albania-North Macedonia border with residence permits issued in Italy, which are suspected to be forged, Albanian media reported.

According to A2 CNN, the three Sri Lankan citizens were arrested by the Police in Korça after attempting to cross the border with suspected forged documents.

Through a statement, the Police announced that each of them had Italy as their destination, while the documents suspected of being forged were seized as material evidence.

Following the procedural actions, citizens NL, 57 years old, AK, 51 years old, and K. Õ., 36 years old, all three residents of Sri Lanka, were arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offence of “Forgery of identity cards, passports or visas”.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Korça Prosecutor’s Office for further action. (Newswire/ A2 CNN)
