Deputy Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs, Muneer Mulaffer, officially assumed duties at the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs premises on T.B. Jayah Mawatha this morning (13).
The Deputy Minister commenced his official responsibilities following the observance of multi-religious rites.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, emphasized that the appointment of Muneer Mulaffer as Deputy Minister of Religious and Cultural Affairs would enable the public to receive more effective services.
Rejecting the allegations directed at the Ministry of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, the minister stated that such accusations would in no way hinder the Ministry’s mission to foster a noble cultural life for all citizens, including followers of the four major religions.
He further remarked that although such false accusations were being made by defeated political factions in a regressive society, it was encouraging to see that the public had a clear understanding of the situation.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Muneer Mulaffer, in his remarks, affirmed his full commitment to amplifying the voice of truth as reflected across all religions and philosophies.
The event was attended by Additional Secretaries of the Ministry, Commissioner General of Buddhist Affairs R.M.G. Senarathna, Director of the Department of Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs Y. Aniruthan, Director of the Department of Christian Religious Affairs Chathuri Pinthu, and officials from the Department of Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs. (Newswire)
