Cleantech by Abans Launches Full-Cycle Plastic Waste Management Initiative in Sri Lanka

Cleantech, a leading integrated environmental solutions provider in Sri Lanka and a member of the Abans Group, has launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at reducing the use of prime plastics through a self-sustaining market system.

The official launch event took place on July 24, 2025, at the Courtyard by Marriott, with participation from dignitaries, key industry stakeholders and company officials.

Named Re-Circle, the initiative marks a significant milestone as Cleantech becomes the first company in Sri Lanka to implement a full-cycle plastic waste management model—covering the collection, recycling, and reproduction of products using 100% recycled plastic materials.

A highlight of the event was a panel discussion titled “Innovative Plastic Recycling Initiatives to Beat Plastic Pollution through Self-sustained Market System,” featuring distinguished speakers including, Jagath Jayasundara (CEO, Abans Electricals PLC), Shiranee Yasaratne (Environmental Management Specialist), Gamini Subasinghe (Senior Environmental Specialist) and Rukitha Nanayakkara (CEO, Cleantech Pvt. Ltd.).
