Sri Lanka ODI captain Charith Asalanka has denied a local media report claiming he was among a group of players who failed a recent fitness test.
Asalanka said he passed the test by obtaining the required points and urged media organizations to report responsibly.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) also confirmed that Asalanka had received the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in a franchise league after successfully completing the necessary fitness requirements.
Several cricketers, including Dinesh Chandimal, have also publicly rejected the report after a local television channel published a list of players allegedly failing fitness tests. (Newswire)
