MP Hector Appuhamy has been elected Chair of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Environment, Agriculture and Resource Sustainability. The election took place during the committee’s first meeting held on June 5 at Parliament.
His nomination was proposed by MP Kins Nelson and seconded by MP Gnanamuththu Srineshan.
Appuhamy pledged the committee’s commitment to environmental protection, with support from international partners.
He also highlighted plans to advance the agriculture sector and called for cooperation from all stakeholders. (Newswire)
