Police have launched an investigation into the killing of a 41-year-old woman who was allegedly set on fire in the Medagama area of Parangaspaswewa on the morning of 13 February.
Police said information regarding the incident was received by the Parangaspaswewa Police Station, prompting officers to initiate inquiries.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the woman, a resident of Parangaspaswewa, was allegedly set on fire by her husband following a family dispute.
Police have identified the suspect as the victim’s husband and have launched further investigations to arrest him.
