100-Foot Bailey Bridge Completed in Kurunegala With Indian Army Support

Sri Lankan and Indian Army engineers have jointly completed the construction of a 100-foot Bailey Bridge in Kurunegala, the Department of Government Information said.

The bridge was constructed at the Kaballawa Bridge site by personnel from the 1st Sri Lanka Engineers (1 SLE) together with the Indian Army Engineer Task Force (ETF).

Construction began on August 22 and was completed on August 24.

The newly constructed Bailey Bridge measures approximately 100 feet in length and 17 feet in width.

Officials said the bridge is expected to improve connectivity in the area and ease the movement of residents.

The Department of Government Information said the completion of the project demonstrated the technical expertise, professionalism and cooperation between the Sri Lanka Army Engineers and the Indian Army Engineer Task Force. (Newswire)
