The body of a police officer, identified as 56-year-old Police officer, has been found burnt inside a three-wheeler in Negombo, Ada Derana reported.
The charred body was discovered at the Kochchikade Kammal Thotupola seashore in Negombo this morning (June 14).
The deceased has been identified as Sergeant Driver Jayantha Pushpakumara, attached to the Negombo Divisional Crime Investigation Unit.
Local residents alerted authorities, prompting an investigation by Kochchikade Police.
A post-mortem will follow a Magistrate’s inquest. (Newswire)
