Cloudy skies can be expected over most parts of Sri Lanka in the morning today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers will occur at times in the Eastern, Uva and North-central provinces and the Mullaitivu and Matale districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere on the island after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75 mm are likely at some places in the Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and the Ampara district.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and the Galle and Matara districts in the morning.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mullaitivu to Hambantota via Trincomalee and Batticaloa.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo during the evening or night.
Winds will be north-easterly or easterly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 40-45 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Mannar via Puttalam.
