A committee has been appointed to identify solutions to the difficulties faced daily by thousands of people engaged in exercise, fitness activities and sports training in the Torrington area of Colombo.
The decision was taken during a discussion held at the location on Thursday (17), following a request by exercise trainers and others using the facilities.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sunil Gamage led the discussion and conducted an on-site inspection to assess the existing facilities and shortcomings.
The discussion focused on addressing the basic deficiencies at the location and developing better facilities for the large number of people who use the area for exercise, fitness and sports training.
Initial proposals were also sought on measures to resolve the identified issues and establish an improved system of facilities within the coming months. (Newswire)
