
Sri Lanka’s Police Narcotics Bureau arrested two suspects at Bandaranaike International Airport on Sunday with a large consignment of kush and hashish brought into the country by air, police said.
Officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau’s airport sub-unit carried out the arrests early on Jan. 25 at the airport arrival terminal, acting on intelligence information.
Police said one suspect was arrested with 4 kilograms and 162 grams of kush and 1 kilogram and 912 grams of hashish, while another suspect was taken into custody with 6 kilograms and 230 grams of kush.
The suspects, both aged 30, are residents of the Kottaramulla area, police said.
Further investigations are being conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau’s airport unit. (Newswire)
