A 47‑year‑old man from Nittambuwa has been arrested in connection with the 2018 abduction and disappearance of a retired Army soldier in Narangaspitiya, Kirindiwela.
According to the Police, the arrest was made yesterday in the Ranpokunugama area under the Nittambuwa police division, following investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department’s Homicide and Organized Crime Division.
A small firearm shaped like a foreign‑made pen, along with ammunition- five cartridges, four T‑56 rounds, eight 9mm rounds, and two 12‑bore rounds- were found in the suspects’ possession and were taken into Police custody.
