Plans to develop a coastal promenade with viewing points from the Matara Rest House area to the Nilwala River estuary were discussed at the Matara Kadawatha Sathera Divisional Coordination Committee meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj and held at the Matara Kadawatha Sathera Divisional Secretariat.
Officials and institutional representatives also reviewed proposals to widen the road at the entrance from Welivatta Junction to Diyagaha Road and to install seating at bus stops in Matara city as part of basic urban development initiatives.
Issues and proposals submitted by officials through correspondence were discussed, and measures were taken to address them. (Newswire)
