Kuwait has reported that its main commercial port, Shuwaikh Port, was targeted in a hostile drone attack, according to foreign media reports.
Authorities said the attack caused material damage but no injuries were reported. The Kuwait Ports Authority confirmed that emergency teams were deployed to assess the damage and ensure safety at the facility.
Shuwaikh Port, located near Kuwait City, is the country’s primary commercial port and a key hub for imports, including food, construction materials and other essential goods.
Officials said operations at the port were not significantly disrupted following the incident, while security measures were strengthened as a precaution.
The reported attack comes amid rising tensions across the Middle East, with several countries in the region reporting drone and missile incidents in recent days.
Kuwaiti authorities have not yet released further details on the source of the drone or the extent of the damage. (Newswire)
