The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has raised concerns over a document that appeared on the Ministry of Health Sri Lanka website, warning it may indicate unauthorized access to the ministry’s data systems.
The document, which relates to the establishment of service minutes for specialist doctors, contains information about doctors and the broader health system.
The association said the document does not appear to be an official government communication, noting that it lacks a letterhead, date, addressee, and details of a coordinating officer. The GMOA said this raises questions about the authenticity and official status of the document.
Attempts to contact the Deputy Director General of the Health Ministry, who is named as the convenor of the document, were reportedly unsuccessful.
The GMOA also noted that there have been previous incidents of unauthorized access to Health Ministry data systems and called for a formal investigation. The association said it has informed the Health Ministry secretary in writing. (NewsWire)
