Sri Lanka Police have announced plans to destroy a large stock of narcotics seized in completed court cases at the Wanathavillu incineration facility in Puttalam today (27).
The stock includes drugs seized by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) in cases concluded before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court, as well as narcotics held by the Government Analyst’s Department following destruction orders issued by courts across the country.
The stock earmarked for destruction comprises 13.022 kg of crystal methamphetamine (Ice), 2.030 kg of cocaine, 39.710 kg of Kush, 156 g of heroin, 4.136 kg of cannabis and hashish, 1.200 kg of Mandy, and 26,262 narcotic pills.
Police said the narcotics were scheduled to be transported from the Negombo Court Complex to the Wanathavillu incineration facility before the destruction process. (Newswire/File Pic)
