Five suspects have been arrested for allegedly obstructing police officers and assaulting them while they were on traffic duty during the Mihindu Perahera in the Veyangoda Police Division.
The incident occurred yesterday (29) when a group travelling in a cab allegedly interfered with the officers’ duties and used criminal force against them.
The suspects, aged 20 and 21, are residents of Nittambuwa and Yakkala. The Veyangoda Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
