Former MP of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Milan Jayathilake, who was earlier arrested in connection with a case filed by the Bribery Commission, has been granted bail.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court released the former MP on a surety of Rs. 01 million after being produced in court today.
The former SLPP MP was arrested by the Bribery Commission in connection with an alleged irregularity in the approval of a land plan and for causing losses to the government.
The incident has been reported during his tenure as the Chairman of the Dompe Pradeshiya Sabha.
Milan Jayathilake currently serves as the Gampaha District Organiser of the Sarvajana Balaya, led by MP Dilith Jayaweera. (Newswire)
