S-lon Lanka CEO Nalin Jayawardhana named CMG’s Executive Of The Year

The Capital Maharaja Group (CMG) named Nalin Jayawardhana, CEO of S-lon Lanka, as the winner of its much coveted Executive Of The Year award for 2024. This award is well-known for having been won in previous years by those who have gone on to blaze trails as pioneers in the nation’s economy. 

This year’s event had a very special Chief Guest – H.E. Thabo Mbeki, Former President of South Africa, a global statesman known as “Africa’s Renaissance Man” for his pioneering work in the rise of the African continent on the global stage.

The award was presented at CMG’s Annual Group Review and 45th Executive Of The Year Awards Ceremony by Mr. Sashi Rajamahendran, Chairman/MD of CMG, at Stein Studios in Ratmalana.

“It’s a dream for me to win this amazing Executive Of The Year award. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to my team for all their support and the Chairman and Board of CMG for the wonderful career I have had with the Company,” Nalin Jayawardhana said. 

The Executive Of The Year was chosen from among five finalists: 

1.    Ms. Neomi Nalawansa, CEO, Tuffline

2.    Mr. Samantha Alwis, CEO, Kevilton Electrical Products

3.    Mr. Gayan Sampath Somachandra, Director – Newsfirst

4.    Mr. Nalin Jayawardhana, CEO, S-lon Lanka

5.    Ms. Tamara Kudaliyanage, Deputy Chief Information Officer 

MTV Channel Private Limited was presented with the coveted ‘RR Award’, named after CMG’s late Chairman Mr. R. Rajamahendran, for its superb performance throughout the financial year.

The ‘Achievers Awards’, presented for brilliant performances by other CMG executives, were awarded to:

1.    Mr. Perumal Selvakumar, Manager Purchasing, AF Jones

2.    Ms. Wasana Mallikahewa, Head of ERP Practice, Group IT

3.    Mr. Dharmasri Ekanayake, Director – Sirasa TV, MTV Channel

4.    Mr. H.W.S.S. Sanjeewa, Sales Support Manager, S-lon Lanka

5.    Mr. Chameera Dodangoda, Dealer Sales Development Manager, Kevilton Electrical Products

As always, this annual gala convention saw the participation of a large number of VIPs, including several ambassadors, high commissioners and other members of the diplomatic community, and many of Sri Lanka’s elite entrepreneurs.
