The foundation stone for the ‘Sunset View Park’ Information and Service Center was laid yesterday (03) near the Arugam Bay bridge under the leadership of Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath.
The project aims to provide all necessary information and services under one roof for both local and foreign tourists visiting the Arugam Bay tourist zone.
Minister Herath said the initiative, long delayed despite being an essential facility for the area, has now been allocated full financial provisions by the Ministry.
He added that political authorities and state officials are committed to completing the project within the scheduled timeframe and handing it over to the local community and visitors.
The project was initiated with the mediation of Deputy Minister of Tourism Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe and under the leadership and coordination of Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Wasantha Piyatissa.
He further described it as a significant step toward transforming Arugam Bay into a tourist zone of international standard. (Newswire)
