Police have uncovered new details in their investigation into the fatal shooting of a 74-year-old man at a residence on Malini Bulathsinhala Mawatha in Boralesgamuwa on Friday (4) night.
According to police investigations, the gunmen had allegedly intended to target the son of the victim, who is said to have worked as a collector for an individual known as “Kos Malli.”
Police suspect the shooting was allegedly orchestrated by an underworld figure known as “Dehiwala Sando.”
However, the gunmen allegedly missed their intended target and shot his father, identified as a 74-year-old, who was reportedly suffering from paralysis.
The two unidentified gunmen had arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire using a pistol before fleeing the scene.
