Sri Lanka Cricket names New National Bowling & Fielding Coaches

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed Ryan van Niekerk as National Bowling Coach and Jordan Gregory as National Fielding and Spin Bowling Coach at the National High Performance Centre.

Ryan van Niekerk, who served as bowling coach and interim head coach of the Netherlands national team from 2023 to 2026, will oversee fast bowling across all national teams, including the national men’s side.

Prior to his interim head coach role, van Niekerk worked as assistant coach and bowling coach of the Netherlands national men’s team. During his tenure, he was involved in the Netherlands’ participation in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and ICC Men’s T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026.

Jordan Gregory, who worked as a fielding consultant for Netherlands Cricket, has been appointed as National Fielding and Spin Bowling Coach. He will oversee fielding and spin bowling across all national teams at the High Performance Centre, including the national men’s team.

Gregory has contributed to several bilateral and multinational tournaments, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2023, during his time with Netherlands Cricket.

Both coaches have been appointed for two-year terms, commencing from 15 April 2026, Sri Lanka Cricket said. (Newswire)
