A foreign woman drowned while bathing in the Mirissa sea in the Weligama police division. The police reported that the accident occurred yesterday evening (13).
When the victim was swept away by a wave, the coast guard and lifeguards managed to bring her ashore and admitted her to the Matara hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
