India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will visit Sri Lanka on December 23 as the Special Envoy of the Indian Prime Minister, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said on Monday.
During the visit, Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with Sri Lanka’s leadership.
The visit underscores India’s Neighbourhood First Policy and takes place in the context of Operation Sagar Bandhu, which was launched to assist Sri Lanka following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
The Ministry said the engagement reflects India’s continued support for Sri Lanka during times of crisis. (Newswire)
