The Patron Committee of St Joseph’s College, Colombo Batch of 2006 convened its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the Josephian Vehicle Parade 2026 on Thursday, 19 February 2026 at the College Sports Club House, setting the tone for what organisers describe as a purpose driven celebration.
Traditionally organised by the 2006 Batch, the Josephian Vehicle Parade has evolved into one of the most anticipated alumni-led events on the college calendar. While the Batch of 2006 continues to serve as the Patron Committee, this year’s edition will place renewed emphasis on empowering young Josephian leaders to take an active role in steering the event.

Addressing members at the AGM, the Patron Committee reaffirmed its commitment to offering guidance, mentorship and full support to the younger generation, ensuring the continuity of Josephian values while embracing fresh ideas and energy.
Organisers noted that the parade is intended to go beyond celebration, serving as a platform for responsibility towards both alma mater and society. In line with this objective, several initiatives have already been undertaken this year, including the presentation of bicycles to Josephian road race champions and the implementation of a road safety awareness programme aimed at promoting discipline and civic responsibility among students.

The committee also highlighted its Smart Board Project, initiated in 2019, which seeks to enhance digital learning facilities at the college and align with modern educational standards.
For 2026, the organising committee has unveiled the theme “Breaking the Silence”, signalling a strong social message centred on inclusivity and equal access to education. As part of this initiative, the Josephian Vehicle Parade 2026 will fund the donation of smart boards for deaf students, reinforcing the college’s commitment to empathy, accessibility and meaningful social impact.
With preparations under way, the Josephian community is positioning the 2026 Vehicle Parade not merely as a celebratory gathering, but as a movement anchored in leadership, service and social responsibility.
