
Former Minister Douglas Devananda, who was remanded in connection with an investigation into the alleged transfer of a firearm to an organised criminal, has been granted bail.
He was produced before the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court today (09), where the Magistrate ordered his release on bail.
The former minister had been taken into custody and remanded in connection with investigations into the discovery of a firearm, originally issued to him by the Army for personal use in 2001, which was later found during the 2019 questioning of organized criminal Makandure Madush. (Newswire)
