The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has released the official school term schedule for 2027, outlining the opening and closing dates for government and government-approved private schools.
According to the circular, the 2027 academic year will begin on January 4, with separate term arrangements announced for Sinhala and Tamil schools and Muslim schools. The schedule also takes into account examinations and school holidays during the year.
The Ministry has also published the list of government holidays applicable for 2027.
