Several parts of Sri Lanka recorded high temperatures on Saturday (25), with Trincomalee reporting a maximum temperature of 39.9°C, according to data released by the Department of Meteorology.
Polonnaruwa recorded 38.6°C, while Mullaitivu reached 37.5°C. Monaragala recorded 37.3°C and Vavuniya 37.1°C.
Other relatively high temperatures included 35.3°C in Anuradhapura, 34.9°C in Mattala, 34.8°C in Maha Illuppallama, 34.7°C in Pottuvil and 34.4°C in Badulla.
Jaffna and Kurunegala both recorded 34.2°C, while Colombo reached a maximum of 32°C.
The lowest maximum temperature among the locations shown in the Meteorology Department data was recorded in Nuwara Eliya at 23.4°C, followed by Bandarawela at 29°C.
