
Workers unearthed a cache of ammunition believed to date back to World War II at The School for the Deaf in Ratmalana on Monday (12), it was reported.
According to News First, the Police said the cache of ammunition was found during routine clearing of garbage on the school premises.
The ammunition, suspected to be rounds used in machine guns, was immediately secured by authorities.
The Police added that the cache of ammunition will be handed over to the Government Analyst’s Department for detailed examination and verification. (Newswire)
