The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that all Sri Lankans living in Nepal are safe, with no reports of harm despite ongoing unrest in the country.

According to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu, there are 102 Sri Lankans in Nepal, including 22 students, other residents, and embassy staff. Embassy officials have been in direct contact with the community through WhatsApp groups and personal networks to monitor their safety.

Spokesperson Thushara Rodrigo said the embassy has issued precautionary messages and reached out to university students. Emergency contact details have also been circulated among Sri Lankans in Nepal to ensure assistance can be provided if needed.

The embassy remains in close communication with the community and has made arrangements for Sri Lankans to seek help when necessary. The Foreign Ministry in Colombo is also in constant touch with the mission in Kathmandu.
