Police in Norway have cordoned off the area around the United States Embassy in Oslo after an explosion was reported near the premises early Sunday.
Norwegian police said “large resources” were deployed to the area at around 01:00 local time as authorities responded to the incident.
“The police are in dialogue with the embassy and no injuries have been reported,” police said in a statement.
Authorities added that investigations were ongoing and that there was currently no information about exactly what caused the explosion or who may be responsible.
Local media reported that the blast caused minor damage near the embassy’s consular section, while police continued to secure and examine the area. (Newswire)
