The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Sharda departed Sri Lanka on Saturday (13), concluding a replenishment visit to the island.

The vessel arrived in Colombo on 10 June and was accorded a traditional naval farewell by the Sri Lanka Navy at the Port of Colombo.

During the visit, the Commanding Officer of INS Sharda held official discussions with the Commander Western Naval Area and the Flag Officer Commanding the Naval Fleet at the Western Naval Command Headquarters and Naval Fleet Headquarters respectively. The discussions focused on matters of mutual interest.

The visit also facilitated a series of interactions between the two navies aimed at strengthening camaraderie and cooperation. Personnel from both sides took part in a friendly volleyball match and a joint yoga session.

Sri Lanka Navy personnel were also given the opportunity to tour the visiting vessel, while the crew of INS Sharda visited several culturally significant sites across the island. (NewsWire)
