Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any US move crossing what it described as Iran’s “red lines” would trigger a response extending beyond the Middle East, including long-term disruption to global oil and gas supplies.
In a statement carried by Iranian state media, the IRGC said it had so far shown “considerable restraint” and carefully selected targets in its retaliation against the United States and its regional partners.
However, the IRGC warned that such restraint may no longer continue.
“From this point forward, all such considerations will be set aside,” the statement said.
The IRGC further cautioned that if the US military “crosses red lines,” Iran’s response would “go beyond the region,” adding that American and allied infrastructure could be targeted.
It also warned that Iran could disrupt regional oil and gas supplies “for years,” raising concerns about potential global energy market instability if tensions escalate further. (Newswire)
