A police sergeant who was on duty at the Katana Police Station during the Easter attack in April 2019 has been fired from his position due to a failure to carry out his assigned duties.

Following the incident, the police conducted an initial investigation into the actions of the sergeant. Based on the findings of this preliminary inquiry, the sergeant was charged with 12 counts of disciplinary violations.
