Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has once again taken aim at Instagram, declaring that the social media platform is “for girls.”
Musk made the remark on Oct. 1 while responding on X to a user who announced that he had deleted Instagram, describing it as an “inherently female app” with “zero benefit.”
“Instagram is for girls,” Musk replied.
The comment quickly attracted attention on social media, with users debating Musk’s characterization of the Meta-owned platform.
It is not the first time Musk has made the same remark. In May, he responded to another discussion about social media habits by similarly saying Instagram was “for girls.”
Musk, who acquired Twitter in 2022 and later renamed it X, has frequently criticised rival social media platforms while promoting X.
His latest remark comes as Instagram remains one of X’s major competitors for users, creators and advertisers, particularly in visual and short-form content. (Newswire)
