A three-member committee has been appointed to investigate opposition MP Dayasiri Jayasekara’s behaviour in Parliament recently, Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne announced.
Addressing the Parliament today, the Speaker said the committee will be headed by the Deputy Chairman of Committees, MP Hemali Weerasekara.
He further said that Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath and Chief Opposition Whip Gayantha Karunathileka are the remaining members of the committee.
“The committee has been appointed based on a complaint received by me. The committee is tasked with investigating the behaviour of MP Jayasekara in Parliament on 20th May 2025 and submitting a report to me,” the Speaker added. (Newswire)
