Several spells of showers will occur in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
According to the Department of Meteorology, a few showers will occur in the North-western province.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Ampara, Monaragala and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 pm.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.
Fairly strong winds of about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the Central hills, North-central and North-western provinces and in the Mannar,Trincomalee, Hambantota and Matale Districts.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. (Newswire)
