A 27-year-old man was arrested in the Hunupitiya area of Kiribathgoda on suspicion of possessing a large stock of duty-free foreign cigarettes, imported liquor and liquid used for electronic cigarettes, Police said.
The suspect was arrested Saturday during a raid conducted by officers attached to the Kiribathgoda Police Station.
Police said they seized 14,600 duty-free cigarettes, 28 bottles of imported liquor and 71.8 kilograms of liquid believed to be used in electronic cigarettes.
The suspect is a resident of Hunupitiya. Further investigations are underway. (Newswire)
