
A total of 123 deaths have been reported so far in 12 districts due to the adverse weather conditions experienced in Sri Lanka.
According to the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), 51 deaths have been reported in the Kandy District, the highest, as of 09.00 am today.
A total of 35 deaths have been reported in the Badulla District, 09 in Kegalle, 08 in Matale, 06 in Nuwara Eliya, 03 in Kurunegala, and 02 in Monaragala.
01 death each have been reported in the Anuradhapura, Jaffna, Hambantota, and Galle Districts.
According to the DMC, 130 persons are reported missing during this period.
A total of 43,925 persons from 13,690 families affected by adverse weather have been placed in 488 temporary shelters. (Newswire)
