The former deputy commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over a corruption-related offence.
The suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday (28) over the alleged issuance of number plates for a vehicle without a valid initial registration.
Authorities said the suspect is currently serving as a commissioner at the Department of Probation and Child Care Services in Battaramulla.
She is due to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court. (Newswire)
